Wow! What an exciting weekend. Yesterday I went on a seal watch, right out of New Bedford harbor and then today I finally got to plant some of my seeds. Not only was it time to start planting some of my seeds but it was a beautiful day (it was in the 60's) so I decided to start the seeds outside.
Today I started Marjoram, Thyme, and Rosemary. I want to end up with about 3 plants each so I planted 9 of each. I choose to start the seeds in recycled newspaper pots. Here is a really great video on how to make newspaper pots.
The pots seem to work really well, plus its recycling! After I had filled the pots with soil I put 2 or 3 seeds in each pot and then added water to the bottom of the tray. Now the pots are in my basement for the next 8-10 weeks, I have a light with a timer so they will get both light and heat w

Here are my pots and seeds waiting to grow all big and strong.
Right now the light is only on for 5 hours a day (its just for heat). When the seedling start to grow I will increase the time that the light light is on for.
Next step (which isn't for a while) is to harden them but I will talk more about that when the time comes.
